Collaborate are excited to introduce you to our new Head of New Development in the US! Meet Susan! Here’s a little bit more about Susan :
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, interested in creating from a young age. In high school (at the age of 16) I wrote for the local newspaper and continued to study journalism and graphic design, melding my two interests into the perfect Bachelor’s Degree in Interdepartmental Communications from Elmhurst College.
Once entering the workforce, I started my career by working for local printers as a graphic artist. My leap into educational publishing happened 22 years ago in page composition and figure creation. From that work grew the opportunity become a freelance art buyer for many US-based educational publishers including McGraw-Hill, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Scholastic, Pearson Education, and National Geographic Learning.
Having a strong interest in children’s publishing, I am excited to move to this side of the industry from art buyer to creative collaborator.
I am looking forward to working with the friends that I have made over the years at various publishers and making new ones by introducing Collaborate’s amazing services to a new base of clients in the US.
In my free time I love to spend time with my family and 2 terrible rescue chihuahuas, Hank and Floyd.
