Marx Fidel is a Manila-based illustrator and comic book artist. He aims to deliver remarkable stories from the mundane to the fantastical through his narrative-driven works of art. Marx is a graduate of Mapua University (2019) with a degree in BS Multimedia Arts and Sciences and is one of its Cardinal Excellence Awardees. He has provided illustrations for several books in the Philippines, such as: "Bawat Bata" (2023) and “Matandang-matandang Buto” (2022) with Adarna House, Inc., “Gasera ng Paglingap: Ang Bal-bal” (2023) with Istorya Publishing House, “DARKNESS Anthology” (2022) with Komiket, Inc., “Get Your Shtick Together” (2020) with Summit Books. He is currently a member of artist organizations Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (INK) and DAKILA. Marx is a recipient of Micro Galleries' LIFT (2020) mentorship program and has participated in several exhibitions like DAKILA's "Politikal ang Komiks" (2022), IsipKwago’s “Guhit Kontra Gahum” (2022), "Namamahay" (2021), and Pineapple Lab’s “FIRST Base” (2019). He has been featured in a few outlets like PURVEYR (2021), MetroScene (2022), and Young STAR (2022). Marx is also a human rights advocate and many of his works are influenced by the socio-political issues happening around us.
