Roberto Cubillas was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, a country with a great graphic art tradition. While attending the National Fine Art School, he specialized in painting, print, graphic humor, and illustration. He also had the opportunity to work alongside great artists, such as Alberto Breccia. Roberto mainly works digitally and has been a children’s book illustrator for the past 25 years, working with publishers such as Edelvives, Alfaguara, Penguin Random House, Guadal and Dreams Art, and more. Some of his projects include books with well-known authors including Laura Devetach, Silvia Schujer, Griselda Gambaro, David Wapner, and Alberto Pez. Roberto’s work has also been commissioned by the Argentine Association for Child and Juvenile Literature and the Banco del Libro Foundation in Venezuela. He regularly exhibits in different galleries in Buenos Aires, such as Mar Dulce Gallery, which currently represents his personal artwork. Although his work focuses on children’s publishing, he also produces content for TV programs, documentaries, and children’s animation.
