The Old Bent Tree
Sally Garland
The little bear cub woke up with the sudden feeling he had forgotten something very important — his best and most favourite toy. In the dim light of the cave he was safe but his toy was out there still; beneath the ‘Old Bent Tree’, where the wind blew hard and snow lay coldest.
He wanted to go out and rescue his little toy but Big Bear said, “You will have to wait until the sun comes again little one – don’t worry; the Old Bent Tree will keep it safe.” A story about longing; of being apart and when the wait is finally over – the joy of reunion.
