Toucan's Tree
Julia Seal
Toucan loves listening to the buzz of the forest, but when a new noise starts drowning out the usual symphony, Toucan knows things aren’t right. Clouds of dark smoke send the animals running, but when they return, their home and trees are gone. As Toucan takes in the smouldering new landscape, he hears the ghostly whispers of the trees, telling him that its time for the forest to fight back. Toucan follows, as the wind whips up the seeds from the forest floor and carries them over to the city. They fall onto the roofs, into the cars, into the gutters and drains. And that night, as the city sleeps, the forest grows! The buzz of the city is replaced by the hum of the forest and
the people will have to adapt to the new life!”
