Esme Lee believes the first book a child holds in their hands is the start of a precious journey. She loves to illustrate all sorts of baby books using her signature chunky style – from high-contrast board books, early ABCs to books about feelings, bedtimes and growing up milestones. Esme’s world has a playful side too, perfect for cute animal books, fairytales and seasonal scenes, colouring and novelty books.Esme’s work often starts with hand-drawn, blocky sketches, before moving to colour art, which gives the work a crafted, textured feel. A strong sense of colour and a library of organic textures helps ground Esme’s art with a hand-crafted feeling.
