I hold a special fondness for a couple of projects: an illustration for a Prince anthology in which I tried to capture his essence without losing my own voice and a small book titled 'I Was Born with the Rain', for which my niece served as the model for the protagonist. Clients often highlight the expressiveness of my characters and how the images help tell and enrich the story, rather than simply decorating it. I read the text carefully, look for references, create initial sketches on paper (often resorting to gloriously crude stick figures)and finally, move on to working on the computer.Much of this started when I was a kid trading comic books with friends and cousins during the holidays and drawing our own superhero stories where we were the stars. Add in the animated TV shows and an old sketchbook of my father’s, and well... here we are. When I hit a creative block, I turn to books like William of Barkerville,flip through the works of classic and modern artists, and go for a walk to clear my head. On Sundays, I love having a vermouth with my wife, and in winter, you’ll likely find me on the couch watching a movie and eating popcorn. I have two sons, Pedro and Víctor, and for many years, a turtle named Brian lived with us. We miss you, Brian!
