We worked with Union Square to fully localize this German-language series of 12 ‘escape room’-style books, featuring puzzles originally designed by renowned game creators Inka and Markus Brand. The EXIT: The Book series caters to a wide audience, from junior puzzle solvers to experienced sleuths, spanning genres from adventure and detective mysteries to science fiction.

Collaborate handled translation, localization, design edits, and puzzle testing—paying special attention to ensuring that the puzzles, often reliant on precise letter placement, remained functional in English while preserving the essence of the original stories. The team had so much fun working on this series—especially solving the puzzles ourselves along the way!
