Sarah is an experienced author and illustrator originally from North-East England, now living in Manchester. She loves to create imaginary worlds with cute characters using both traditional and digital methods. Her rich and vibrant colour palettes, textures and patterns are inspired by nature and the magic of fairy tales and fables. Sarah studied graphic design and illustration at Teesside University, going on to teach art for seven years, before focusing full-time on illustrating children’s books. Commissions to date include ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and ‘The Elves and the Shoemaker’ for Ladybird Books as Sarah Jane Preston, and the ‘Good Night Yoga’ series for Sounds True, selling over 200,000 copies worldwide. Sarah has also had some great opportunities, licensing her work to advertising companies, educational books (Oxford University Press), greetings cards, calendars, magazines plus developing life-size characters designed for local government initiatives. She always looks forward to collaborating with authors and other creatives. Sarah thrives off of working as a part of a team, creating, sharing and developing ideas to bring new projects into the world!
