My first picture book illustration class was a Domestika course by Lucy Fleming, whose work gave me the push to begin. From there I took many more classes and workshops in both illustration and picture book writing. Before moving into children’s books, I started with an Etsy shop for greeting cards, while my day job in product marketing sharpened my feel for storytelling. I’ve been shortlisted for the WIA in 2024 for book cover design and reached the Top 100 for the Ascent Novel Prize in 2026. A recent highlight is Three Wishes on "I Love You," to be published by Sourcebooks and listed in Barnes and Noble. One early project with a Canadian author led to many later commissions. I always loved drawing, and I always loved reading, though for a long time they felt like two separate things. It means a lot to me that they now meet in the same work. These days I keep returning to natural surroundings, especially beaches, the ocean and small details outdoors that can shift the mood of an image. I’m also very much a breakfast person, and slow Sunday breakfast time with my family is something I fiercely protect. In my work, I hope people find a little magic in everyday things.
