Susie Hammer
Susie Hammer is an author and illustrator of children's books from Warsaw, Poland. When she was 20, Susie decided to go somewhere sunnier, moving to Madrid, where she started her work as an illustrator. This new, colorful, and brighter environment left a mark on her work.  Susie loves minimalism. She uses simple shapes and vivid colors to create a playful, happy imaginary world. Although she works mostly digitally, her hands are frequently stained with all the colors of the rainbow. She combines her job as an illustrator with working with children, teaching art at schools, and hosting workshops. In 2018, she created the “Playing Fields” project, designing a space for kids to explore and play at the Contemporary Arts Center in Murcia. In her free time, she loves to walk her dog and sing when no one is listening.
