My name is Eric Reis, and I was born and still live in Jundiaí, near São Paulo, Brazil. My work leans toward a traditional feel, even though I create digitally—I love thinking in terms of watercolor and charcoal drawing, while saving traditional media for sketches and thumbnails. I’m especially drawn to fantasy, vast scenery, and nature. More recently, I’ve also worked with user interface and with bridging creative and development teams. At heart, I try to bring a calmer, kinder energy into both my work and the way I move through life.I’ve created around 50 illustrations for an ad campaign for Zé Delivery, a major beverage service company in Brazil, and led the visual development for UAUBox, which was the biggest beauty subscription program in Latin America for quite a while. I’ve also illustrated many published fantasy and educational books. One project I especially loved was the visual development of Um Ano de 11 Meses by Dalmir W. Toso, where we built an atmosphere that also reflected a bit of the region where we live in Brazil. Clients usually value my professionalism, planning, timely delivery, and clear, kind communication. I’m trained in drawing and illustration at Quanta Art Academy, with a degree in Advertisement and Publicity, a post-graduation in UX Design, and further studies in graphic design, background painting, character design, and more.A lot of what shapes me comes from the tenderness and kindness my parents gave to me and my brother, along with all the books, games, music, and movies that taught me how to dream while awake. I find inspiration in quiet places, museums, hiking trails, fiction, and learning about other artists’ lives and processes. I’m usually happiest living slowly with my wife, family, plants, and pets—maybe going out for a coffee, visiting a new place, an exhibition, or a restaurant, and enjoying those simple small things. I’d like to be remembered as a gentle man who worked with love and cared deeply for the people around him. I also share my home with my wife Silvia and our cats, Rabisco and Aquarela.
